  • Dermaplaning
    Dermaplaning is a form of physical exfoliation that involves using one tool: a medical-grade scalpel. It effectively removes the top layer of skin to reveal a brighter, fresh layer beneath. In doing so, it targets skin conditions like hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and large pores.

    During treatment, your aesthetician will begin by cleaning your face to prepare it for exfoliation. Then, she’ll apply a solution to your skin that opens up the pores before starting the process. Using a surgical steel medical-grade scalpel, she’ll carefully scrape your skin at a 45° angle. The angle is critical because it keeps your skin from getting cut, and it effectively removes all of the dead skin.

    She’ll pull the skin tight as she passes the scalpel back and forth across the surface to prevent any damage. You will even be able to see all of the dead skin that comes off of your face in addition to the peach fuzz.

    Removing Dead Skin

    Many patients love to see what comes off their faces because it’s such a satisfying experience to see tangible evidence of your exfoliation. This treatment stimulates the development of new skin cells, rejuvenates your skin, and helps your skin look and feel more youthful. Once the treatment is over, your aesthetician will apply a soothing serum or mask to help calm the skin and restore pH balance.
